Pictured Rocks II
As your kayak glides across the blue-green waters along Michigan's northernmost coastline, you look to your left and notice an outcropping of sandstone that seems to have a kind of cave built inside it. Covered in trees and lush foliage, this natural formation takes on tones of light-greyish blues and soft pinks who's reflections seem to dance and play in the turquoise water beneath. It's another beautiful day spent exploring Michigan's famed Pictured Rocks national lakeshore, and now you're wondering if your kayak will fit inside that cave opening; there's so much to explore!
This was the second time I painted a view from Pictured Rocks, and I'm sure it will be far from the last. Painted using heavy bodied acrylic paint on plywood.
